Our Story
Every business begins with a purpose, and ours began with the desire to make importing easier and more straightforward for everyone.
Before founding Elleo Global, Lydia (founder) spent years working at a freight forwarding company, where it became clear just how challenging the import process can be for small businesses and new importers. Many struggled with confusing regulations, unexpected fees, and a lack of clear guidance. Seeing that firsthand sparked an idea to create a space where importers could access accurate, easy-to-understand information to help them navigate the procedures of importing
In 2012, that idea became ImportNewbies.com, a blog-style, resource website built to help newcomers understand the complex world of importing into the U.S.. The goal was to share useful knowledge and simplify shipping and trade compliance for all.

In October 2017, Lydia passed the U.S. Customs Broker License Examination, and not long after, in July 2018, Elleo Global was founded.
​
"Elleo" is a name inspired by the combination of Lydia's children's names.
CTPAT Validated
The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) is a program created by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to strengthen international supply chains and improve border security in the U.S. In exchange for participating in this voluntary program, the CBP offers certain benefits and reduced examination rates to its certified partners.

This programs offers several benefits for Importers, such as, faster release at the port, less examination, discounted rate on penalties and more benefits to be implemented in the years to come.
