End of De Minimis: What it means
As of May 2, 2025, the United States has officially ended the de minimis duty exemption for low-value imports originating from China and Hong Kong. Previously, this exemption allowed goods valued at $800 or less to enter the U.S. duty-free under Section 321 of the Tariff Act.

Mandatory Declaration
All imports from China and Hong Kong now require an official declaration with CBP and are subject to applicable customs duty, fees, and tariffs.

Imports less than $2,500 may be eligible for Type 11, informal entry.

Imports valued over $2,500 require Type 1, formal entry.

A Customs Bond may be required.
