DUTY CLASSIFICATION
HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) Code Classification and duty/tariff rate determination are one of the most important information an Importer will need in order to import into the United States. Classifying a product correctly requires experience and insight into U.S. Customs and Government Agencies regulations. Classifying a product incorrectly can lead to paying the wrong duty rate, seizures, penalties and other potential retribution by Customs.
If you are an Importer and you do not know the duty rate or other regulations for your products, we are here to help! We will gather all of the necessary details for your products and help you classify them within the Harmonized Tariff Schedule with the appropriate code and rates. Some products may require additional regulatory overview and licensing from other U.S. Government Departments such as: FDA (Food and Drug Administration), USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), etc… As part of our commitment to help and guide importers, we will be available to assist you through the difficulties of trading with the U.S.
CUSTOMS BOND
U.S. Customs and Border Protection requires a Customs bond for all entries. The bond acts as an insurance between the Importer and CBP.
Elleo Global works with reliable and CBP-Authorized surety companies to help Importers purchase their bonds.
There are two types of Customs bonds:
(a) Single Transaction Bond (valid for one shipment only)
(b) Continuous Bond (valid for one-year)

IMPORT SECURITY FILING (ISF) | 10+2
The ISF program, also known as “10+2” was implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2009 to help identify high-risk shipments and smuggling. This program affects only those who import by ocean. For all shipments by sea, 10+2 must be filed in advance before the vessel reaches the destination port in the U.S. All ISF filings must be done no later than 72 hours or 3 days before the vessel leaves port of origin to avoid Customs penalties.
We are here to help our ocean Importers comply with all CBP requirements and help get your goods cleared through Customs smoothly.
